There’s a French electronic music producer called Godford that I went to see in the Shoreditch club, XOYO, a couple of years ago. Their album I YOU SHE is one I could listen to over and over again, getting totally lost in the warmth of the spellbinding synths and poetic vocal samples. My favourite, song, though, is called Better Place. It makes you want to cry and dance, enveloped in hope, romance, sadness and euphoria at the same time. Godford themselves described the album as ‘for the romantic ravers’, and this song embodies that. The repeated sample, ‘Again I saw you alone, I’ll make a better place for you’ is the inspiration for this drawing.
This is also probably our most popular print, and I wonder if it’s because of the pleasing, fresh colours or because most of us know what it is to search for belonging or bluer skies.
Our prints are created using luxury textured paper here in the UK. For every print made, a tree is planted. Lovely.
