‘God's Tilted Hat’ is part of my surrealist illustrative collection entitled 'Into the Depths of a Dream I Go'. Dealing with moments of unexplained fortune and inspired by the wacky humour of Spike Milligan's poetry, the collection depicts moments that alter fate: a wild adventure, a blessing from an unlikely source or a serene landscape in which magic can be found.
Each piece comes with a line of a song or a poem telling its story.
If God was a fish,
He’d tilt his hat to you.
And swim in loops around you
To see what you might do.
And if God was a fish,
He’d swish his tail for you.
And swirl and twirl and loop-de-loop,
to get you dancing, too.
